The studio is nestled on two acres of lovely gardens, arbors, and naturalized areas professionally designed by a landscape architect.

Our studio grounds are carefully maintained by an experienced horticulturalist for year-round beauty and unlimited background possibilities.

The decision to create a portrait in the studio, outdoors, or even at an off-site location can be discussed in detail at the portrait consultation appointment.

All Family and Children's sessions begin with a portrait consultations appointment. During this meeting, special ideas, locations, colors, clothing and props are discussed in detail. The planning meeting is also a good time to introduce and familiarize the children with our studio and surroundings. Our Chocolate lab, Hazel, is always ready to extend her special style of "welcome!"

Portrait sessions are fun and unrushed. We allow plenty of time for each session, to create the images that we planned... plus enough extra time to let a few "unplanned" ones happen, too!

About a week after the session, we'll meet again for an ordering appointment.

The originals are previewed by projection, on a framed screen above the fireplace in our cozy living room.

Finishes, sizes, packages and framing are all decided during this relaxed ordering session. Completed portraits are ready in about three weeks.
